What is PUE?
Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is a metric used to determine the energy efficiency of a data center. It is the ratio of total amount of energy used by a data center facility to the energy delivered to computing equipment.
PUE = Total Facility Energy / IT Equipment Energy
The ideal PUE is 1.0, which means all the energy is used by IT equipment. However, in reality, data centers typically have PUE values ranging from 1.2 to 3.0.
